About

Anna’s artwork is about turning a commonplace medium, like paper or thread, into a complex experience for the senses.  Repetition is used as guideline, a system. Through this limitation she makes aesthetic discoveries: specifically, the importance of the touch of the hand and the imperfections left behind. These imperfections are the layers of the art process. They are the history of the piece and reflect what it means to be human: an endeavor for perfection with the limitations of our physiological and psychological state.

Born in Boston, Anna Lambrini Moisiadis spent her childhood years in her father's hometown in Greece. The colors and textures of this region inspire her work. Anna received her MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009. During her time there, she worked at Tandem Press from 2006-2008 becoming Tandem's first Project Assistant. Her works have been shown nationally and internationally at the National Academy Museum in NYC, the Hellenic Museum in Chicago, and the Palazzo Re Enzo in Italy to name a few. She is currently teaching art at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee College of General Studies Waukesha and Washington County Campuses. Anna lives and works in her studio in New Glarus Wisconsin with her husband Justen and two daughters, Elena and Zoe.
